Conflict metal refers to the minerals composed of columbite-tantalite, cassiterite, wolframite and gold etc. from the conflict region of Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). These minerals are refined into tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), tungsten (W) (hereafter referred to as the 3 T's), cobalt (Co) and gold (Au), and are used in electronics and other products respectively. In the near future, the metals produced by some smelters may be banned, therefore all of our key suppliers are required to trace their supply chains for the metals in their components back to smelter and the source.
As a citizen of the world, Sankyo Shoji (HK) Ltd. declare and commit to refusing the application of metals from the conflict region; meanwhile, we request Sankyo's supply chain to commit the following:
(1) Must fulfill the social and environmental responsibility;
(2) Never use the conflict minerals from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or its adjoining countries and areas ;
(3) Trace the origins of the metals used like Au,Ta,Sn and W, fill in the investigation form and sign the declaration.(Please download the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template)
(4) Require the same to your upstream suppliers.
The supply chain for these metals is complex and Sankyo is undertaking reasonable due diligence in our supply chain to ensure that these metals are not sourced from disreputable smelters which aid or support armed terror groups from this Conflict Region.
Sankyo expects its suppliers to adhere to the Electronic Industry Code of Conduct (www.eicc.info) and to source these metals only from socially and environmentally responsible sources.
Sankyo and our suppliers do not knowingly use any metals originating from Conflict Mines. Sankyo regularly questions our supply chain to ensure these Conflict Metals are not used. |
